IFTTT update: Pizza party! Domino’s is on IFTTT

When it comes to ordering pizza, we can all agree: the waiting is the hardest part. Thankfully, Domino’s launched their innovative delivery tracker in 2008. It lets you watch your delicious order go from prep, to bake, all the way through to delivery.

Now we’re excited to announce that you can turn on and build Applets that work with the tracker. That’s right: pizza is on IFTTT!

You can keep things simple, and get a notification when your pizza is on its way. Or you can use smart home devices to come up with your own creative “pizza party imminent” warning system.

In addition to the “out for delivery” signal, you can also turn on or build Applets that run when your order is being prepared, is in the oven, or is ready for pickup. Domino’s has already built a few Applets to give you some ideas.

Extra cheese? No onions? Ranch dressing for dipping? Whatever your pizza preference, a Domino’s Applet is the perfect side. Check out their page and get started — and tell us when to come over.

IFTTT update: Two new Apple services

Services that work with your smartphone or tablet have been an important part of IFTTT since the very beginning. Today we’re excited to announce two brand new ways to do more with your iOS devices: the iOS Calendar and App Store services.

Turn on Calendar Applets that bring important information right into your daily agenda, make sure you never miss an appointment, or help you quickly create events.

The App Store service will keep your device full of the newest and best apps. You can run Applets that notify you when a new app enters the top ten, when there’s a price drop or a new version of a specific app, and much more.

Along with these two new services, you can also turn on Applets that work with iOS Photos, Contacts, Reminders, and your Reading List. Explore the collection to see how they can supercharge your iPhone or iPad. No need to wait for an upgrade!

IFTTT update: Twitch comes to IFTTT

Every few days, we see tweets like these.

The people have spoken. Repeatedly. For years! Today we’re delighted to say that you’ve been heard: Twitch is now on IFTTT. Whether you’re painting with Bob Ross, cooking with Domestic Dan, or one of the 2.4M who watch Syndicate play the latest video games, there’s an Applet that can make your experience better.

If you’re a broadcaster, you can use them to manage your channel and make sure no one misses a new stream or video.

If you’re a viewer, there are Applets that make it easier to discover, save, and share content.

Those are just a few examples — you can also turn on or make Applets that run when you get a new follower, when you follow a new channel, when there’s a new video from channels you follow, and when there’s a new top video of the week.

Twitch has built an amazing community full of creativity, enthusiasm, and just plain cool people. We’re excited to be a part of it, and we have big plans for the Twitch service.

IFTTT update: Louisville is the first city on IFTTT

Louisville, Kentucky has a storied history. Founded in 1778, it’s one of the oldest cities in the US west of the Appalachian Mountains. It’s famous worldwide for the Kentucky Derby, Kentucky bourbon, and Kentucky Fried Chicken (quite the trio). Today, we’re excited to announce that IFTTT has become a part of the Louisville story — with the launch of the Smart Louisville service, they’re the first smart city on the platform.

The city government is committed to using the data it collects to improve the lives of Louisville residents.  As a first step, their service is focused on helping people track and monitor air quality.

They have big plans for the future: Civic data experts are helping the government discover new ways to integrate city data with other services and devices. We have no doubt that other cities will soon look to Louisville as a shining example of what a smart city can be. Stay tuned, and watch the Smart Louisville service evolve!

IFTTT update: ProPublica comes to IFTTT

For many years, thousands of you have used Sunlight Foundation Applets to better understand your government. Recently, the foundation announced some changes, and we were concerned about losing this vital and empowering service.

That’s why today, we’re delighted to announce that ProPublica has partnered with us to ensure that these Applets continue to run. ProPublica is an independent, nonprofit newsroom with a mission "to expose abuses of power and betrayals to the public trust.” We can’t think of a better partner to build Applets that empower ordinary citizens to engage with America’s laws and legislators.

See everything you can track on ProPublica’s service page — you’re just an Applet away from becoming a more informed citizen.

Interested in following politics globally? Check out our collection — it has Applets from a variety of services. You can tailor them to different regions, or be inspired to make your own.

IFTTT update: Stringify is on IFTTT

Stringify is an app that allows you to automate your IoT devices by linking them into “flows.” These flows can connect multiple devices: You can set off a chain reaction when you push a button in the app, issue a command to your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, or dozens of other triggers.

It’s an incredibly powerful tool, but the Stringify team realized there was more potential to unlock. They decided to join the IFTTT partner platform and empower their users with even more options and possibilities. They’ve been hard at work building out their service. The result? Applets that pair Stringify flows with new services and capabilities that are exclusive to IFTTT.

You can explore all of their Applets on the Stringify service page.

IFTTT update: Telegram is on IFTTT

Telegram’s only been around since 2013, but the messaging app has made quite an impact. In those three short years it’s reached 100M monthly active users and it shows no signs of slowing down. We’re excited to announce that, as part of that momentum, we've partnered with them to add Telegram to IFTTT.

The service is flexible and powerful, with six triggers that can run Applets and four actions. They can all be customized in various ways, depending on how you use Telegram: Whether you’re chatting in a group, admin to a public channel, or using the @ifttt bot as your personal assistant.

If you’re in a group chat: You can turn on and make Applets that anyone in the chat can run by messaging a key phrase.

Todoist to Telegram Applet

If you’re a public channel admin: You can make Applets that run when a new post is published or a new photo is shared in the channel you manage.

Log Telegram posts to a Google Sheet

If you’re private messaging with the @ifttt bot: You can control your smart devices or other apps quickly and securely from the Telegram app. You can access it from outside of the app by visiting http://ift.tt/2hlbB9X.

Set Nest thermostat by messaging @ifttt bot in Telegram

For all of the above, you can also turn on and make Applets that automatically send messages, photos, videos, and audio to the people and channels you’re chatting with.

This is just the beginning — we predict big things from this little bot. Telegram is a service that prides itself on speed, security, and simplicity; so, clearly, this partnership is starting off with a few things in common! We can’t wait to see how Telegram’s millions of users embrace Applets, and look forward to helping their team push the service in new and exciting ways.
