IFTTT update: ProPublica comes to IFTTT

For many years, thousands of you have used Sunlight Foundation Applets to better understand your government. Recently, the foundation announced some changes, and we were concerned about losing this vital and empowering service.

That’s why today, we’re delighted to announce that ProPublica has partnered with us to ensure that these Applets continue to run. ProPublica is an independent, nonprofit newsroom with a mission "to expose abuses of power and betrayals to the public trust.” We can’t think of a better partner to build Applets that empower ordinary citizens to engage with America’s laws and legislators.

See everything you can track on ProPublica’s service page — you’re just an Applet away from becoming a more informed citizen.

Interested in following politics globally? Check out our collection — it has Applets from a variety of services. You can tailor them to different regions, or be inspired to make your own.

IFTTT update: Stringify is on IFTTT

Stringify is an app that allows you to automate your IoT devices by linking them into “flows.” These flows can connect multiple devices: You can set off a chain reaction when you push a button in the app, issue a command to your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, or dozens of other triggers.

It’s an incredibly powerful tool, but the Stringify team realized there was more potential to unlock. They decided to join the IFTTT partner platform and empower their users with even more options and possibilities. They’ve been hard at work building out their service. The result? Applets that pair Stringify flows with new services and capabilities that are exclusive to IFTTT.

You can explore all of their Applets on the Stringify service page.
